Safety Month - Are you prepared?
How prepared are you and your family for any disaster that may occur? January is Safety Month at Olympus and we will have the Sandy Fire Department coming to the gym all day on Tuesday, January 17. They will be giving a talk on "safety" at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm and they will have a fire truck at the gym at 4:15pm, 5:15pm, 6:15pm, and 7:15pm so you can all see a fire truck up close. Our students and parents from all of the classes on all of the days are invited to participate. You will also get a postcard from www.safeoutcome.com
They have all the information you could possibly use for any given disaster that could happen. Take the free assessment and see where you as a family are rated on safety preparedness. You will receive a FREE risk and preparedness report.
STAY SAFE in 2012....that's the goal.
Precautions
January and February are notoriously the months of the year where we catch that cold or flu and bring down the entire family. We have a company that comes in every other week to bomb the gym with bacteria killing agents so that we can provide our clients with the safest environment possible. However, we need you all to do your part as well. We have hand sanitizers all over the gym and we ask that all the students, coaches and parents constantly clean their hands with sanitizers to keep down the possibility of transferring these flu and cold bugs onto other students. We also ask you... if your child is sick, please keep them at home. We provide "makeup" classes if you need to miss but PLEASE, do not come to the gym if you are sick. Maya Fullmer-Silvera is a Level 7 gymnast at Olympus and she underwent heart transplant surgery in June. Last week she was cleared by her doctors to return to full workouts and try to prepare for the season. It is critically important that we keep the possibilities as low as possible for Maya to contract a cold or the flu. A cold could be very dangerous for Maya. THANKS!
